Another gem in Jeff City. I love this deli in an old charming house. The sandwiches and salads are delicious. The sandwiches are simple but really good. I suggest the 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 salad combo which is a good value and the portions are substantial. My favorite is the house salad which is a dressed italian salad. What surpised me the most is that they have unbeliveably fast service so it's a great place to grab your lunch if you need something quick to go. They also have in-house dining in the deli. The only negative thing I would say is that I wished they stay open all-day. A wonderful place to grab lunch in Jeff City.

I really like sandwiches. They're my favorite food. This place, while not bad, certainly did not make me want to return. Here's why: First the salad. Most of the reviews rave about the salad. The inside of the building is plastered with signs proclaiming it as the "Best Salad in Town." This is the perfect example of why one has to be careful with Yelp when traveling. What defines a great salad in my hometown is very different from the Jefferson City definition. The Jeff City idea of a great salad is, apparently, a big pile of iceburg lettuce drowning in (an admittedly good and homemade) Italian dressing. There may have been 2 or 3 slivers of tomatoes tossed in with my portion of dripping lettuce, and there was plenty of Parmesan cheese. Nothing else. That does not make a famous salad to me. The sandwiches are ok. But they are a little uninspired. Just standard basic deli sandwiches that you could make in 30 seconds at home. I was a little disappointed that one of the slices of bread used for my sandwich was obviously left in the open air for a while and was stale as a result. Also, while the lady at the register was friendly enough, the rest of the staff seemed put off and uncaring. They throw the finished sandwiches on top of the counter without calling a name or order number, and the man clearing tables was doing so almost aggressively. And a minor detail to finish it off, I really don't like establishments that use styrofoam cups. Spend the extra 2 cents per cup and don't destroy the world. After all of that, there WERE a few positives. This place is remarkably inexpensive, the sandwiches are made VERY quickly, the atmosphere is pretty darn cool, and the food decent. But just decent though.

A simple, no frills deli in a quaint and comfortable brick house. Visiting Jeff City for the weekend, we needed something to eat for lunch and really just wanted a good sandwich. I ordered turkey and it was very good. Sometimes a good sandwich doesn't need anything fancy. Sometimes a sandwich with good deli meat (they have Burgers ham too...seriously can't be beat) + fresh tomatoes + fresh crisp lettuce + good cheese is all you need. The side salad is interesting and different in a good way- it appears to be just your average greens with a vinaigrette by the flavors are interesting enough that I would definitely order it on its own. Also good was the NY Pastrami sandwich- not quite as good as the ones I've had in NY, but very good nonetheless.

I love family owned deli's. I wish I could find a good one here in Atlanta. But for now I will just have to stick with the Brick House whenever I am visiting my family in Jefferson city. There really isn't too much to say about this place. Its just a solid little deli with great sandwiches and an amazing house salad. I recommend the half sandwich and side salad combo deal. I always get the turkey sandwich and its good - just like your grandma would make. The house salad is delicious. If you are a salad lover just get the larger portion of the salad and you won't be disappointed. I also love them for having Coke products. Being from Atlanta I always get excited to find fountain Coke in the midwest...none of that Pepsi business for me! This place can get really busy so if you can't find seating downstairs remember to check out the seating upstairs.

What a JEM!!! I visit this place every time I visit home. Dave the owner is so kind and attentive to his patrons. I love their homemade sandwiches and house salad. So good I'll be going back tomorrow before heading back to Phoenix.

Great food. Just what I was looking for. Warning: not actually wheelchair accessible. One step to rear door, multiple to front.

One of the best and most unique places to eat in Jefferson City. This place is always packed but is super fast at getting your food out. They rightfully claim to have the best salad in town. My other favorite isn't on the menu, it's a Ruben with pastrami instead of corned beef and it melts in your mouth. My only complaints is how hard it is to find parking and that they aren't open in the evening but really those aren't complains as much as a display of how popular the food is that you can't find parking and they do enough business to only be open breakfast and lunch 5 days a week. A must eat place in the state capital.

I've been coming to this locally-owned deli for a few years now and try to hit it up every time I visit Jefferson City (that once a year business they're just jonesin for). This type of deli is extremely common in New England but seems virtually nonexistent in the franchise-ridden areas of this area. It has sandwiches, soups, and great salads (extra recommendation for the house salad, which you get alone or as part of a 1/2 and 1/2 deal). There is a nice dining area or you can stop in for take out. I think the same people have been behind the register or making my sandwiches every single time I've been to this place. A high recommendation for anyone who wants a good sandwich during the noon rush.
